GLORIOUS! Had the most fantastic relaxing weekend in this beautiful place. Feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere, so peaceful, but so close to major trunk roads for large family gathering coming together from all parts of the country and really close to Musselburgh (10 minute drive) for river walks/ large shops/ beach/ restaurants and bars etc if needed. The owners are so friendly and inviting and have thought of everything. The castle is so quirky, So many fascinating things to see and the history is so interesting. Beds are amazingly comfy. The gardens are stunning. Had such a fun time in the sitooterie in the evening round the fire pit. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Perfect for a family gathering. Thank you Anna and Andy. We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful house with fabulous gardens What a place! Stunning house with fascinating history which Anna, the owner, was more than happy to share with us on a tour of the property on arrival. Eclectic mix of accommodations inside, every bedroom had its own theme and our group had fun picking theirs. The garden is beautifully kept and we had fun at the firepit late into the evening. A fabulous place to spend a weekend with friends or family, relaxing and filling up on "together time". Will be back!

Glorious escape A 20 minute drive from the centre of Edinburgh, nested away in the quaint town of Musselburgh, this beautiful castle offers a classical getaway. The facilities were great, big dining room for large group meals and plenty of bedrooms with the cottage access. A wide variety of rooms offer up a variety of experiences such as an enchanting East Asia-inspired room, a rugged cellar bar space/games room with table tennis/pool table and beautiful garden spaces with lots of facilities such as BBQ, open fire pit and a large swing.

My new favourite destination! I could not recommend this place more, Anna went above and beyond with supplying everything that we may have needed and more. Not only did Anna let us check in early but she also gave us a full historical tour of both the main house and the next door cottage that made the whole experience even more magical. We made full use of the fantastic showers, baths, bbq, games room, China room etc and we loved every single bit. It was a perfect place to reunite with loved ones after the long covid year! You will be blown away if you book this place - it was honestly the most impressive venue with the most attentive hosts (and also really conveniently close to Musselburgh for food shops and Edinburgh was just a £14 Uber away!) Could not be more grateful - you will definitely be seeing us again!

Perfect Place for Some R&R I was treated to the most wonderful stay in this unique and quirky castle for some much needed R&R. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are as fantastically comfortable as they are visually outstanding. We were treated to tour of the castle by the very amenable owner, Anna, who has gone to great lengths to learn about the interesting history of this little gem of a building. The amenities were above and beyond, and Anna has paid so much attention to detail to ensure that her guests want for nothing. Thank you for a wonderfully indulgent and relaxing get away xx
